I bought some Grapples at the grocery store recently. Before your imagination runs wild, I will tell you that Grapples are apples that taste like grapes.
The grape flavor is subtle so it doesn't taste real weird. It was also expensive: 4 apples for like $3.50.
Whether we like it or not, genetically engineered fruit (and other things) are now among us. And they are mixing with the natural plants. There have been news stories about how genetically altered corn has spread to other fields in places like Iowa. Also a recent story talked about a company that refuses to buy tea from a country that may allow in the near future genetically altered crops to be grown on its soil.
Here are some combos of things I want them to engineer for me:
Bananas that have a slight flavor of orange. I like buying orange/banana juice at the store.
Bananas that also taste like peanut butter.
Eggs that have the flavor of ketchup. (I like ketchup on my eggs.)
Beef that has the taste of steak sauce already in it.
Cough medicine that tastes like sugar or is sweet.
Potatoes that taste buttery already with no extra calories.
